I’ve been showing some items found at a Treasure Coast mainland site lately. There was a lot of variety. Finds covered a period of slightly over one hundred years. Most items came from the 1970s it seemed, but a 1902 nickel and a 1903 Indian head penny were among the finds.

For $150,000 you can buy 1000 artifacts, including those shown above, from a 1700s era British warship.  Many of the artifacts are still encrusted.   Included are cannons, lead hull patches, hooks, spikes, cannon balls, and many unidentified pieces.

Here is a piece of wood from a shipwreck that is for sale on eBay. You can make nice display pieces out of miscellaneous finds like this. Preserve wood, pottery, or whatever, make a nice label and you have a display that will look nice in the right room and be a nice conversation piece.

10/10/10 Report - 1715 Fleet Artifacts & More

I appreciate receiving photos like this because I can't be everywhere myself.I received an email from the Fisher organization about the fact that they are going after new deep water wrecks. They found a Swedish wreck, the Briggen Hialmar, three miles deep that sank in 1831 in the North Atlantic.
