One Typical Treasure Coast Treasure Beach Yesterday
There are actually some small cuts on a few beaches right now. There aren't many and they aren't big (one foot and less), but there are a few out there.
The surf has been running only around 2 feet, so why are there any cuts at all? That is a good

Typical Treasure Coast Beach Yesterday
After I had been to the beach yesterday, I came home and the wind really picked up and came in from the Northeast. That was a dirty trick. I was there too early. I doubt that it was enough to move all of that built up sand anyhow, but I would have

7/17/11 Report - Cobs, Maravedis, Odyssey Marine, LaSalle Shipreck, and Conditions
1731 Reale. You'll find this cob, with many more examples, on the web site that I mention below.Odyssey Marine common stock jumped over 10 percent Friday. That is pretty good return for a single day. You can't make that much on a ten year CD. OMEX has been very volatile lately, increasing rapidly right before the issuance of millions of new shares, and then falling just as rapidly. If you are a

6/19/11 Report - Mystery Shipwreck & Three Common Metal Detecting Misconceptions
Typical Treasure Coast Beach This Morning.Almost all old shipwrecks are mysteries to some degree, but there is one Treasure Coast shipwreck site that is a bit more of a mystery than most of the others. Although most people that know about it speak of it as if it is a shipwreck, it was once thought that it might not be the site of a shipwreck but rather a camp where treasure was transferred, or

6/2/11 Report - Florida Laws & Identifying Fake Coins
Parts From Rosary? (Photo submitted by Michael H.)That is what Michael H. thought his finds might be. He also recently found what looks like a musket ball on Fort Lauderdale beach. 1715 Fleet Shipwreck Screw Top Listed on EBay.I thought it would be a good idea to show this photo because I bet there are a lot of people that would simply throw this thing away if they found it. I bet a lot of you never associated screw tops with Spanish shipwrecks. This item is said to be a screw top from a container that might have been used to hold sugar. Might be, I guess. It is listed for

5/3/11 Report - Blade? Found on Treasure Coast & More On Lines and Holes
Guess What This Is.This is a really neat item found on the St. Johns wreck and pictured in the Fisher organization report that I mentioned yesterday for the St. Johns Wreck. I didn't keep it secret very long, but the item is a conquistador helmet. I wonder how many of you would have tossed it away if you dug it up on a beach? The report also has a drawing of how the helmet would have looked new.

4/2/11 Report - Shipwreck Wood and Spike & $290 Million Treasure
Recently Found Wood Showing Spike Hole. Here is a piece of wood that I picked up in a shell pile the other day. As you can see it has a nice square hole through it. The wood is very hard almost like it is fossilized. It appears that the rust leached onto or into the surrounding wood, which seems to make the wood harder and more resistant to deterioration. I've noticed that before on shipwreck wood
