Written by the Treasure Guide for the exclusive use of treasurebeachesreport.blogspot.com.

Here are the two views of the coin I showed yesterday asking for help with identification.  Guess what?
I was way off.  But somebody found out what it is.   And it tells a much more fascinating story than I ever imagined and leads to an even more fascinating treasure story.

I'm going to talk about that coin I dug Monday again.  I wasn't going to but when I cleaned it up I saw some neat things I wanted to show.

Same Spanish Silver Coin Dug Monday After Being Cleaned

I used Bill Popp's coin cleaning instructions as found in my treasure coins link list.  I diluted some acid and put the coin in the acid for a short while.  I then used baking soda.

10/14/12 Report - Coin Holes, Coin Lines & Beach Conditions

Written by the TreasureGuide for the exclusive use of treasurebeachesreport.blogspot.com.

One to two foot cut on the Treasure Coast this morning.

This morning near high tide the same cut that I showed yesterday was now only about a foot to a foot and a half high.  The waves were hitting this beach almost directly at a ninety degree angle.  That won't cause much erosion.  Instead the water

Small Brass Anchor Water Detector Find.

I never knew what this was other than a miniature anchor and I still don't know what it is for. It seems to well made to simply be a toy.

It's about two inches high. The black could be easily cleaned off, I think.

I think I saw a photo of a similar one one

4/5/12 Report - Possible Beacch Conditions Improvement Coming Soon & More

Written by the treasureguide for the exclusive use of treasurebeachesreport.blogspot.com.Recently Found Pot Shard.Seems like a good time to remind you that when conditions are poor for one thing, they'll be good for finding something else. The southeast winds have been piling shells up on some beaches. When that happens, cob hunting is generally poor, but lighter materials such as pot shards can

8/18/11 Report - 1500s Gold Bar, Bronze Coin Finds, and $5 Indian

Gold Bar for Sale on EBay.

This 14.74 troy ounce lower kt. gold bar is for sale on eBay for just under $20,000. Interesting! To me it seems unusual in a variety of ways. It is listed as being from a shipwreck, but the age and ship is unknown. It is speculated to be from the 1500s. That would be a relatively rare date for a North American shipwreck, although there are some.

There is no COA
