IMLEK - 100% Organic Milk (Concept)

Designer: Nenad Popadic
Project Type: Concept
Location: Belgrade, Serbia
Packaging Contents: High-end soy, coconut, and almond milk in various flavors.
Packaging Substrate / Materials: Pet, Plastic
Printing Process: Digital Printing

I aim to create a premium brand distinguished from typical dairy products by its emphasison health, wholeness, and timelessness. I envisioned a packaging concept for a Serbian company, Imlek, which will enrich the range of products with high-end soy, coconut, and almond milk in various flavors.

What's Unique?
The design incorporates natural elements such as the leaves and raw ingredients of each type of milk to accentuate the high quality of the materials sourced in the manufacturing of the product. These elements further highlight the products organic natures and suggest that the products have a rich, sultry taste. The neutral color palette denotes a clean and healthy undertone. Unlike traditional milk, almond and soya milks provide delicious, healthier alternatives to lactose-based drinks. They don’t expire as quickly as traditional lactose options and offer the convenience of ready-to-consume, compact packaging. The packaging forces consumers to reimagine their concept of milk as a trendy, refreshing, smooth blend of coconuts, almonds, or soy.

Hannibal Wine Bottle (Concept)

Designer: Danilo Radovic
Project Type: Concept
Location: Belgrade, Serbia
Packaging Contents: Red Wine
Packaging Substrate / Materials: Glass
Printing Process: Handmade

Inspired by TV Show Hannibal I made this manually crafted design on a bottle of wine in order to represent uniqueness of this show and to create something that will describe its core through illustration and design. For me this was an amazing opportunity to do something that is so symbolic which led me to more abstract way of thinking and drawing. It was very challenging to do such a thing, but I guess that's the way it should be.

This was a project which I did at the Faculty of Applied Arts, department Graphic design under mentorship of our dear professor Milos Ilic, who helped me a lot.

Maya Serbie Honey

Creative Agency: PopArt Studio
Graphic designer: Terezija Katona
Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
Location: Novi Sad, Serbia
Packaging Contents: Honey
Packaging Substrate / Materials: Paper

Maya Serbie is a graphic project we did for a manufacturer from France who aims at promoting Serbian quality honey on the French market.

The brand sells different types of honey, such as acacia (miel d’acacia), flower honey (miel toute fleurs), and meadow honey (miel de prairie). For all three types of honey, we have designed an identical label in order to make it recognizable as a part of one and the same product line. The label consists of the Maya Serbie logo (+logotype), the name of type of honey, together with a corresponding color (yellow, brown, and scarlet), and a nice cut-out which looks like honey is dripping from the lid. Makes you want to eat it right away! Each jar also has a lid label with the logotype and the corresponding type of the honey, combined with its color.

This project was really special for us so we wanted to share it with Packaging of the World in order to promote our hard-working bees and the best honey in the region.

Cvece zla (Student Project)

Designer: Danilo Trbojevic
Project Type: Student Project
School: Faculty of Applied Arts
Course: Master
Tutor: Milos Ilic
Location: Belgrade, Serbia
Packaging Contents: Sour pickles, chutney, fruit jam
Packaging Materials: Glass, paper

INTRODUCTION TO BRAND
Restaurant Cvece zla (The Flowers of Evil) is named after the famous collection of poems written by Charles Baudelair. Like Baudelaire, I wanted to go a step further than all the others. At the present time we are imposed by things that are "good for us" and they teach us how to behave or not ... Cvece zla is the exact opposite of all that, it skips all boundaries and tramples over all the rules that are set. For example, labels for chutney were all made by the same principle: the picture of peppers and classic typography. I have tried to do something with similar principle, but with the introduction of a bit "strange" illustrations and typography.

PACKAGING
Cvece zla's packaging is designed to leave a strong impression on a potential buyer. Avoided most of the rules that are normally used to create the package as a realistic depiction of the product, but is shown as an abstraction or stylization of art. At first glance, it sees as chaos, until you see well and you enter into details of illustrations. Illustrations are made of collages of old illustrations of flowers, vegetables, fruits and birds, while in the background are scribbles that describe the tastes that is in the jar. Of course, the description of those scribbles you can only connect with taste when you try any of the products of Cvece zla. Typography is blended together with illustrations so together they form a single unit and convey information to the consumers. This whole "mess" is framed by a simple and slim frame that gives the label a certain tone of sophistication and elegance.

Luxembourg Ice-cream & Cakes (Student Project)

Designer: Jasmina Zornic
Project Type: Student Project
School: Faculty of Applied Arts
Course: Master
Tutor: Milos Ilic
Location: Belgrade, Serbia
Packaging Contents: Cakes and ice-cream
Packaging Materials: Paper

Luxembourg is a pastry shop in Belgrade, which produces cookies, cakes and ice creams. Luxembourg provides much more than delicious sweets. This is a new experience, a new world of exquisite sweets that you would like to share with friends. We want to create a completely new feeling when it comes to buying sweets. These sweets are a way to spread joy and love. From this we draw our slogan: The Place of Sweet Excellence.

The idea is that in addition to beautiful box we build brand, which is actually experience of the brand itself. The entire experience is transferred to the place of sale and in addition to plain cake or pie in a box, it provides people a completely new shopping experience. Their emotions and behavior, when purchasing Luxembourg goods, and whole that experience, actually builds our brand. Interaction between the seller and consumer is extremely important, and the connection between them is our package. So, after the buyer chooses a flavor, or a favorite piece of cake, the seller puts it in a box that is in bright pastel colors, to indicated that something sweet is hiding inside. Then he takes seals and stamps, depicting tastes and products of Luxembourg, and stamps the packaging. Sweet package is then ready to leave Luxembourg and travels away with the customer. First thought I had when I started to work on this project was how to make people happy when they buy cakes and when they see the package, as they are when eating these sweets. Then it came across my mind that happy feeling when your mailman delivers you the letter or package that you've been waiting and you are so impatient to open it and see what's hiding inside. So I put these two together: eating favorite cake and receiving a gift in your mailbox, and created Luxembourg brand.

We have an identity consisted from post stamp that I illustrated and that depicts world of Luxembourg, and from seals that can be in so much more variations.

Rakijateka, Distilling Company (Student Project)

Designer: Jovana Randjelovic
Project Type: Student Project
School: Faculty of Philology and Arts - FILUM
Course: Graphic design
Tutor: Nemanja Dragojlovic
Location: Kragujevac, Serbia
Packaging Contents: Rakia - Serbian brandy
Packaging Materials: Glass, Paper

Rakijateka is a fictional, small family distillery which produces high-quality brandy. In Serbia fruit brandies are commonly known as Rakija, and the most popular flavours are Šljiva - made from plums, Loza - made from grapes, Dunja - made from quince...

It is widely known in Serbia, that rakia (serb. rakija) has been always considered a traditional cure, which is the main reason why she became a part of the "home pharmacy system" in almost every household. Many believe that besides being able to lift up your mood, helps in better digestion and elimination of various types of pain. But whether can rakija really cure diseases or these are just empty beliefs and secret desires, will remain debatable and each of us is given the right whether to believe it or not. This is the reason why the name of the distillery is actually a play of words - Serbian word for pharmacy is "Apoteka".

The whole concept, which was done as my master’s degree project, is based exactly on these common folk beliefs and supposed to have a touch of humor in it. The aim was to create such a brand that will at the same time be modern and tradition-oriented, so as to be interesting and meet the needs of all generations, both young and elders. The names of different flavours derive from the fruits they are made of and the name of the specific medicine, because in my country we see this brandy more like a cure than the regular alcoholic drink. That's why each flavour is meant to "cure" symptoms of various "diseases" that are related to everyday problems: mood swings, worries, stress, broken hearts, disappointment...

Gorki

The basic idea in the design of the label for this product, was to create something that will at first reflect on what kind of product is done.
Of the numerous proposals for we selected name "Gorki", as in the Serbian language says bitter, which is fully described in terms of audio our products. As the target group for this type of product quite broad, the main theme is selected leaves, as an element that will be familiar to everyone. Many stylized sheet describes the diversity of content (56 spices), while its color symbolizes the monotony of the whole compound and it is our product. Was used for making semi-transparent label to the impression that the leaves is physically present in the bottle itself.

Designed by Aleksandar Petrovic of Janus.
