Nostro's Packaging

Creative Agency: Fly Jabuti
Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
Client: Café Pacaembu
Location: São Paulo, Brasil
Packaging Contents: Coffee

To make the brand stand out in a growing market, which has been developing its visual identity for the past two years, our challenge was to balance the origin with practicality and innovation of the capsules. A clean and straightforward color code that ensures brand architecture consistency on shelves.

A novel design that combines 3D illustration, a unique free hand draw font and specially selected colors that resulted was not only visually engaging but also tangible. The design and production team worked seamlessly during the entire process; the matt lamination, internal colors, and hot stamping details created a local Brazilian brand able to compete in any international market.

Nostro has a functional packaging that can be used as a special capsule case. Then, we put together both the functional benefit with the state of the art hermetical technology, which Café Pacaembu is known for in the Brazilian market; a packaging that maintains the coffee oxidation.

Alto da Invernadinha

Designer: Priscyla Falkenburger
Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
Client: Claudia Peiter
Location: Rancho Queimado, Brazil
Packaging Contents: Wine and Sparkling wine
Packaging Materials: Glass and label (sticker)

Alto da Invernadinha is a small winery in south Brazil. They have a small production of wines and sparkling wine and early this year they have decided to enter the national Brazilian market. The idea was to stand out with a larger label for the wine and a smaller one with the wine details (such as year of production, type of grape and alcoholic percentage). This way when the production changes it is easier to print only the smaller sticker instead of both of them.

The winery lies in a high altitude witch makes the production and it's quality very special. The concept was to show the two mountains of the winery, to represent this particular region in the south of Brazil. In the wine label we see the mountains in the counter-shape and in the champagne we see them being formed by the yellow and orange lines. We also see a sun coming up through the hills.

Vodu Brewery (Concept)

Illustrator, designer: Pedro Correa
Project Type: Concept
Location: Florianópolis, SC, Brazil
Packaging Contents: Beer
Packaging Materials: Paper

I was charged to develop an visual universe, illustrations and labels for a micro brewery company called Vodu. They are a brewery from Florianópolis, SC, Brazil, and nowadays is a one-man brewery company, with capacity to produce up to 500 liters per month. Now he decided that it's time to make things more professional, increasing the production and packaging it in bottles, so he contracted a graphic designer to handle it. The founder, Romulo Ceretta, is also an metal musician, so I decided to include that trace in this new visual identity. In order to represent this dark trail of metal in the brand, all the six labels of Vodu have an "obscure" animal that personifies the characteristics of each style of beer.

Hamilton De Holanda E O Baile Do Almeidinha

Creative Agency: Human Design & Comunication
Graphic Designer and Creative Director: Enio Souza
Illustrator: Paulo Brabo
Planner: Daniel Bileski
Project Coordinator: Marcos Portinari
Client: Hamilton de Holanda
Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
Location: Curitiba, Brasil
Packaging Contents: Music CD
Packaging Materials: Paper - Cover and Booklet

Character conception, illustration and identity design for Baile do Almeidinha ("Almeidinha's Ball"), an instrumental music event promoted by Hamilton de Holanda. Holanda is a Brazilian musician who is considered one of the world’s greatest mandolin players of all time.

The challenge was to give life to Almeidinha, a fictitious mandolin player and dancer, created by Hamilton and his producer, Marcos Portinari. Their intent is to rescue the culture of Rio’s “gafieira,” traditional balls in the historic region of the city. The character needed to be unique and capture all the colors, movement, joy and lightness of the ball.

Using only illustrations, the identity also includes a typical "gafieira" scene, with some famous Rio de Janeiro landmarks in the background. Incorporating the same illustration style, all the band’s musicians were also included in the scene.

The concert-ball takes place every month at Circo Voador ("Flying circus"), a legendary local venue. The album, which celebrates two years of public and critical acclaim, was simultaneously released in Brazil and Germany in 2015 and was also nominated for the Latin Grammy Awards.

Mithica Beer

Designers: Ricardo Heiderscheidt and Jefferson Reuter Quint
Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
Client: Mithica Ceverjaria
Location: Joinville /SC - Brazil
Packaging Contents: Beer
Packaging Materials: Glass bottle, plastic

Mithica Cervejaria, located in SP / Brazil, produces and resells craft beer.

The product, developed with the best ingredients, needed a package that communicated the essence of the drink and the brand.

Inspired by the Greek muses, a label was developed for each of the four variations of the product, designated with the names of four characters in mythology.

The label has a modern look, created both by the diagonal that captures attention to the name of the product and divides it into two saturated colors, as well as by the typography used.

The Mithica brand stands out at the top of the label, in gold, as well as the seal bearing the icon representing each muse. Also worthy of note is the illustration of the female figure representing all four Greek muses, in the style of illustrations from ancient Greek vessels.

Finally, the formatting of the information on the label was done in such a way that its reading became intuitive and fast. Thus, with the various elements used in the packaging, a language was constructed that highlights the product and attributes added value to the brand.

+ Danúbio, a new positioning

Creative Agency: Oz Estratégia + Design
Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
Client: Vigor
Location: São Paulo, Brazil

Oz Strategy + Design has been working with the dairy product brand Danúbio for more than seven years. Recently, the client decided on creating a new positioning for the brand.

Before expressing this new positioning in the brand’s visual identity and packaging line, we decided it would be essential to deepen our understanding of the specific audience that the brand wants to reach the "moderns", in order to avoid developing a stereotypical view of this public.

We developed an ethnographic research survey where we chose some representatives of this target group, visited their homes, looked in their refrigerators, went shopping with them, and also learned what is their visual universe.

From this information we obtained guidelines for a more assertive design work. A clean, transparent design, without overloaded information, aligned with the expectations of the intended audience. Completely in consonance with what the journalist specializing in food Michael Pollan said, "The healthier the food the quieter it is."

The apprenticeship we had in contact with this public was that the truth has to be the guideline of the brand. Truth that we translated into transparency.

When the type of packaging allowed, we presented the product as "naked" as possible.

We removed the paper label the “requeijão” cheese and the carton surrounding the “frescal” cheese: the products are presented directly to the consumer without significant visual barriers.

The presence on the shelves shows that the solution we designed gives to Danubio’s products a great differentiation in relation to its competition. Where all the other competitors "scream" with an excess of colors, images and text, resulting in their being very similar to each other, the Danúbio clean visual creates a unique identity in the category.

Cerveja Noroest

Creative Agency: Abio Design Lab Studio
Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
Client: Noroest
Location: Não Me Toque, Rio Grande Do Sul, Brazil
Packaging Contents: Beer
Packaging Materials: Glass, Paper

In the Northwest Beer project we propose communication across geographical coordinates indicated by degrees, minutes and seconds for beers line identification.

Beer Northwest Pilsen was illustrated with the set of numbers of the location of the city of Pilsen, in the Czech Republic, a place that gave name to the clean and clear style to the standards of beer time; city coordinates are 49 ° 44 '51˝ N, 13 ° 22' 39˝ E. As for the beer style India Pale Ale geographical references are from the city that first used the term "IPA" - Sydney, Australia - with visual communication aiming to be extended to other subjects without losing its identity.

For each type of beer apply a typographic style by customizing the graphical spot on each label, in addition to color following the traditional expressions of the market.

The logo alludes to a compass arrow in the "N", which is pointing to the top left corner in your plan and frontal format indicating the relative Northwest.
