TOUCHING/觸動

Creative Agency: ANGLE visual integration
Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
Client: Baroque Camerata
Location: Taiwan
Packaging Contents: CD
Packaging Substrate / Materials:

When Teresa Teng's Oriental style old songs "encounter" Western classical music, the original meaning of the lyrics are infused into the melody of the song, while also retaining the essence of the melody. Art resulting from such an interweaving of the classical and the modern reintroduces Teresa Teng's music in all its elegance!

The oil painting of the album cover design uses multiple layers of color stacked upon each other to create a rich unique characteristic, and serves as a metaphor of new and old genres of music and philosophies overlapping each other. In addition, the unique nature of a painting corresponds with the timelessness of Teresa's music. To correspond with the name of the album, "Contact", a texture and sense of touch was added, allowing the music to not only be heard but also felt. Therefore, the notes of the music sheet printed on the clear casing have a degree of thickness, that can be felt to feel the temperature of the music. The same concept also extends to the random arrangement of transparent lamination in the lyrics book.

Salute to BACH - Brandenburg Concertos No.3 5 6

Creative Agency: ANGLE visual integration
Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
Location: Taiwan
Packaging Contents: CD

The Brandenburg Concertos are amongst Bach's most famous orchestral compositions. Full of a wide spectrum of different instruments and magnificently daring in its combinations, the concertos are classics that continue to be well-received in the modern world, and are also widely regarded as the pinnacle compositions of the Baroque period. Baroque music mainly refers to a style of music which was became increasingly widespread during the Renaissance, and was a type of music which saw popularity before the spread of the Classical music style. Initially, Baroque was a term used in the field of architecture, and was only gradually adopted by the arts and music. Baroque music is characterized by its extravagance and a generous use of decorative notes. Baroque music typically contains short, strongly played rhythmic patterns, and elaborate melodies.

The picture on the cover of the album has been divided geometrically, and portions of Bach's portrait and marble slabs overlap and intersect each other have been divided once again, representing the magnificence and cadence of the music. In addition, the see-through outer case with the name of the album carefully engraved onto the exterior, appear as gold-engraved text found in court buildings. Thus creating an effect that is extravagant and exquisite, yet not overly assertive, allowing one to indulge in a noble yet tasteful banquet of music.

I am grateful to have been blessed with the opportunity to experience the various aspects of what Western and Chinese cultures have to offer. As different as they may be, I identify with both and have had the chance to see the best of both worlds. Ultimately, I view myself as a world citizen and with this album, my vision was to create something that would best represent my musical experiences and be a reflection and fusion of different inspirations and cultures. Within the brand new material, I have also had many ideas and fragments of creativity over the years that I have collected for the suitable project. Trip View Bowl

Designed by Trip View Bowl, Taiwan.

Trip View Bowl compresses the view of a specific Taiwanese landscape in a 12cm-in-diameter blue and white porcelain bowl. The three-dimensional panorama map is amazingly painted inside the bowl. Rotating the bowl will virtually take you into the sky looking down at this landscape. All famous sights and stores are also labeled in this interesting and practical souvenir so tourists could take all wonderful memories of the tour home.

Trip View Bowl displays a kind of delicacy unreachable by printed patterns or hand-drawing. You'd absolutely agree it is a piece of delicate work of art, if and even if observing it with a magnifying glass! This artwork also represents 100% Taiwan-made identity, from its creativity to the firing process, and from the bowl itself to its packaging.

In order to adhere to environmental protection, we used medium density fiberboard as packaging materials. The open design allows consumers to see, touch, and the most important thing is to protect the bowl well. The packaging can even protect a fall from five meters as it is designed to self-crumble to save the bowl from breaking.

A magnifying glass is also supplied together with the packaging so that the details can be made available to everyone. We spent six months testing, fix, find the right process, product or even months to complete on the warehouse and other packaging predicament, finally completed in accordance with the objectives we set a new packaging, and reached the following requirements:

Bubble Up (Student Work)

Designed by Jessie C. Chou, Taiwan.

This is the project I've been working on as a college student. The idea originally stemmed from the problem that occurred to me when trying to finish pearl milk tea.

I found that the last 5% pearl is often stuck between or beneath the ice cubes and is therefore hard to be eaten by a straw.
The hemisphere on the bottom of the cup is to separate the last 5% of pearl from the ice cubes.

All we need to do is make a little shake-up, and the pearl will be pushed to the bottom. This way, we can easily reach the straw to the remaining pearls!
